Getting Here By  Plane, Train or Car

View Painting-Photography-France in a larger map

Transport from your home is not included in our pricing. However, once you have arrived in our area, a free transfer service to and from airports or railway stations is provided by us (subject to our Terms & Conditions).

You should aim to arrive on a Saturday if at all possible.
This is because our painting and photography schedules run from Sunday to Saturday inclusive. We can accommodate week-day arrivals if necessary but, as this necessitates hiring additional vehicles and drivers specifically for this purpose, we have to levy a supplement of 150 euros for each such trip.

Of course if you prefer to hire a car and drive to us (perhaps because one person is not going to participate in the painting or photography schedules and/or because you wish to arrive mid-week and want to make your own arrangements for getting here) Europcar and others have desks at the arrival airports.

In any event, whether you choose to fly to us, drive, or come by train, you will find that getting here is very easy....

By Air from the UK - Clicking the links in black type below will connect you to the airlines and airports listed:
To Bergerac, Bordeaux  or Toulouse
Bergerac and Bordeaux are our two preferred airports as there are flights in and out on Saturdays and your transfer time is only approximately one hour for either.
Toulouse is twice as far and so has a transfer time of apx. 2 hrs, dependent on traffic. We have to levy an extra charge of 125 euros each way for Toulouse pick-ups/drop-offs as we have to hire another driver to make the journey.

Paris is the main 'hub' for long-haul international flights, with connecting flights to Bordeaux from there. However, Amsterdam, Munich, Frankfurt and London have all been used as 'hubs' by previous clients. Bordeaux tends to deal more with European and North African flights. Therefore, if your country of departure is outside Europe you will need to bear this in mind.

By Rail The high speed TGV runs to Bordeaux (travelling from the north and north-east and to  Agen (travelling form the south-east) enabling connections to our local station at Tonneins

We will collect you from Tonneins station (10 minutes away)

Please check with the French rail service, SNCF, for full service information in English. You may book tickets online and have them posted to the UK. Discounts apply to the over-60s. An alternative site is SNCF from UK

By Road

We are just 15 minutes from the A62 autoroute

If you have a GPS/SatNav device that allows navigating to precise co-ordinates (such as Tom-Tom), you can target us at these co-ordinates : 44ş 23' 14"N  0ş 15' 42"E. Failing that, enter the town/village as "Lagruere" and the address as "St. Juin"  There is no house number.

If you are using a road atlas then....

From Bordeaux....
Take the A62 autoroute, leaving at Jct 5 (Marmande).
From the toll booth, follow signs to Pont des Sables and Marmande centre.
At Pont des Sables, cross over the canal and then turn right onto the D143 signed to 'Le Mas d'Agenais' and follow the road alongside the canal all the way to Le Mas d'A. The canal will be on your right when you arrive at Le Mas.
Go sharp right across the bridge over the canal at Le Mas d'Agenais, turning sharp left when you leave the bridge. The canal is now on your left and you will see a small marina.
Cross over the traffic lights, up the hill and then, at the crossroads by the Mairie, turn left, still following the D143 (signed now to Calonge and Damazan)
Take the next turn left onto the D234 signed Lagručre.
Follow this road, and, after you enter the village of Lagručre, turn left at the T junction. Then, JUST BEFORE the canal bridge ahead of you, turn immediately right, following the signs to The 'Halte Nautique'. This will take you on through the rest of the village of Lagručre.
You will eventually pass the 'Mairie' (Mayor's Office), on your right, and then you will go steeply downhill, curving sharp left to take you across the canal.
Once over the bridge, bear right and keep straight on, past 'La Halte Nautique' with the canal on your right and stay straight on this road.
Turn next right by the old ruined church (signed to Villeton) and you will see the gated entrance to "Les Peupliers" immediately on your left. just after you make the turn.

From Toulouse...
Take the A62 autoroute, leaving at Jct 6 (Aiguillon / Tonneins) at the village of Damazan.
From Damazan, there are two roads signposted to Tonneins. DO NOT follow the sign to Tonneins which has  the sign for Heavy Goods Vehicles on it!  Take the other road signed to Tonneins, the D300
Follow the D300 towards Villeton for about 8 kilometres.
On the edge of Villeton cross straight over the D120 and continue ahead for apx 3 kms until the road forks. The left fork leads over the canal bridge to Lagručre and Calonges.  Take the right fork and drive down away from the trees to the T junction near the ruined church at St Juin. The gated entrance to "Les Peupliers" is immediately on your right just before you reach this junction

From Bergerac....
Take the D933 to Seyches
In Seyches, take the D641 to Gontaud-de-Nogaret, continuing on the D641 for 3.5 kms until you reach the N113. Turn left here to Tonneins.
In Tonneins town, turn right at the first set of traffic lights (signed D120 - Casteljaloux). Cross the Garonne river and then turn right at the sign for Lagručre and "Halte Nautique"
Turn first left at the sign for "Halte Nautique" (don't follw the sign straight on to Lagruere)
Turn left at the ruined church (signed Villeton)
The gated entrance to "Les Peupliers" is immediately on your left as you turn at this junction
