France is the most popular holiday destination in the world, and if you want a painting or photography holiday that allows you to capture the essence of the real France, then we offer you a great opportunity!
Our holidays are set in a hidden part of France; a lovely landscape of single-track lanes winding past vineyards, orchards and sunflower fields to ancient and beautiful Bastide towns and villages
We don't believe in penalising guests who are travelling unaccompanied, therefore there is no single person supplement
If you have a spouse, partner or friend who would like to come too, but who doesn't want to take part in the painting or photography, that's no problem. They can come out with us sightseeing, or enjoy the facilities of pool, garden, house, and surrounding area. And they get a 30% discount!
You don't have to be an experienced painter or photographer to enjoy our holidays. Beginners are extremely welcome; indeed, around half of our guests (both for painting and photography) classify themselves as beginners.
Each evening we usually take an apéritif and chat about yet another great day - as would be expected on a quality vacation like this, all drinks at the house are free and limitless........... Cheers! à votre santé !!
When he visited our area, the celebrated British chef, Rick Stein said, "There are restaurants beside the canal, too - not as many as you’d think, but one in particular stands out, in Lagruere, with a lively cook called Vétou. She cooked a beautiful magret de canard for us, with a really good red-wine sauce."  Vetou is now retired but, as our good friend, she will cook that meal exclusively for you, in her own home!
In addition to your comfortable en-suite bedrooms, guest-kitchen and lounge, you can relax and enjoy yourself in our pleasant garden, capture images of our wildflower meadow, or take a cooling swim and catch some sunshine in our private pool area. The heated pool is kept at a pleasant Mediterranean temperature so that it's usable from April through to October. Even though this is an activity holiday, we appreciate that you still  need  time to unwind!
You'll find yourself extending your painting or photography knowledge in an informal, relaxed and fun-filled atmosphere. Our guests have discovered that, with us, learning and having a good time always go together. That's why people come back!
Your comfort, learning experience and overall enjoyment are our  primary concerns. We want you to have a really good holiday, returning home inspired and satisfied, with paintings or photographs that you can be proud of.... and happy memories that will last just as long.
The 140 year-old water-lily gardens where Claude Monet purchased his water-lilies for Giverny is one of our hidden treasures. Latour-Marliac is a not-to-be-missed location on our itinerary.
